Socialbit takes data privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal data when you use the Socialbit platform, including our practices regarding the access, use, storage, and sharing of data obtained through signing in with Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

1. WHO WE ARE

Socialbit (“we”, “Socialbit”, “the Controller”) operates the Socialbit platform and/or application available at https://socialbit.ro/ (together, the “Service”).

2. ACCEPTANCE OF THIS POLICY

By using the Service, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to the processing of data in accordance with it. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

3. WHAT DATA WE COLLECT

3.1. Data you provide directly

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
– Identification and account data: first name, last name, username, profile photo (if you upload one).
– Contact data: email address, phone number, postal address (if you provide them).
– Support and communications data: messages sent to support, requests, feedback, uploaded attachments.

3.2. Data obtained through third-party sign-in (OAuth: Google / Facebook / LinkedIn)

Socialbit allows you to sign in using your Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn account. Depending on the provider you choose and the permissions you grant on the consent screen, we may receive certain profile data such as:
– a unique account identifier (ID),
– first and last name,
– email address,
– profile photo / avatar (if available),
– language/locale (if available),
– other information you explicitly authorize.

Important:
– Socialbit does NOT receive and does NOT store your Google/Facebook/LinkedIn account password.
– You may revoke the permissions at any time from your account settings with the relevant provider (details in Section 7).

3.3. Technical data (Log Data) and usage data

Whenever you visit or use the Service, we may collect technical data such as:
– IP address, device type, operating system, browser version,
– pages/features accessed, access time and date, session duration,
– error and performance information.

3.4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to ensure the Service works properly and, where applicable, for analytics and improvement (details in Section 10).

4. HOW WE USE DATA

We use personal data for:
– creating and administering your account and authentication;
– providing the Service’s functionalities;
– operational communications (confirmations, security notifications, account-related messages);
– customer support and handling requests;
– analytics, improving the Service, preventing fraud, and maintaining security;
– complying with legal obligations and protecting our rights and legitimate interests.

5. LEGAL BASES (GDPR) – IF APPLICABLE

Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on:
– performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) – to provide the Service;
– consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) – for example, for certain non-essential cookies or additional connections/permissions;
– legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) – security, abuse prevention, Service improvement;
– legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

6. SIGN-IN WITH GOOGLE / FACEBOOK / LINKEDIN – DETAILS

6.1. Google Sign-In / Google OAuth

Socialbit uses Google authentication to allow you to log in to the Service. To the extent that Socialbit uses Google APIs for authentication or other functions authorized by you, the use and transfer of information received from Google will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the “Limited Use” requirements.

Data received from Google is used for authentication and account management, and for any other functions only if you have given explicit consent (through additional permissions).

6.2. Facebook Login

Socialbit uses Facebook authentication to allow fast sign-in. Data received from Facebook is used for authentication and account management in Socialbit, in accordance with the permissions you grant.

6.3. LinkedIn Sign-In

Socialbit uses LinkedIn authentication to allow fast sign-in. Data received from LinkedIn is used for authentication and account management in Socialbit, in accordance with the permissions you grant.

7. HOW YOU CAN REVOKE ACCESS (GOOGLE / FACEBOOK / LINKEDIN)

You can revoke Socialbit’s access to your account data at any time:
– Google: from your Google Account security settings (the “Permissions/Third‑party access” page).
– Facebook: from Facebook settings, the “Apps and Websites” section.
– LinkedIn: Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → Other applications → Permitted services → Remove.

After revocation, some features (e.g., fast sign-in) may become unavailable until you reconnect or use an alternative authentication method (if available).

8. HOW WE SHARE DATA

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data only in the following situations:
– Service providers (“processors”): hosting, databases, email services, analytics, technical support, security monitoring – only to the extent necessary to provide the Service and based on contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
– Legal requirements: if we are required by law or by a valid legal request.
– Protection of rights: to protect our rights, property, user safety, and the integrity of the Service.
– Corporate transactions: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization (with appropriate notices where required by law).

9. DATA SECURITY

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, access segregation, internal policies). However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. COOKIES AND LOG DATA

– improving the experience and analytics (where permitted and, where applicable, with consent).

You can manage cookies in your browser settings and, if available, through the Service’s consent mechanism.

11. DATA RETENTION

– and thereafter for as long as necessary for legitimate purposes (e.g., legal obligations, audit, fraud prevention, dispute resolution).

Upon request, you may ask for deletion of your account and/or certain data, except for data we are required to retain.

Some providers (e.g., cloud services) may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g., standard contractual clauses) in accordance with applicable law.

– to request restriction of processing;
– to object to processing (in certain situations);
– to data portability;
– to withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).

14. CHILDREN’S DATA

The Service is not intended for children under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16 without a parent/guardian’s consent, we will take steps to delete such data.

15. LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control their content or policies and recommend that you review their privacy policies.

16. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Policy periodically. We will publish the updated version at https://socialbit.ro/. Changes take effect from the date of publication, unless the law requires otherwise.
